Benefiting Member States
Viet Nam
The labour productivity of Viet Nam currently remains lower than that of other ASEAN countries with a shortage of skilled workers. This is related to the quality of vocational trainings and human resources such as lack of technical skills including digital skills. Building on the ongoing public-private partnership with Microsoft and the strong interest of the Government of Viet Nam, the project aims to contribute to strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system’s capacity to deliver digital skill development for all and implement digital transformation. The objective will be achieved through improving in digital skills of Vietnamese youth and migrant workers. Two immediate outputs contribute to this including recognition and broader use of Microsoft-IOM Digital Learning Platform and increase in accessibility of Vietnamese youth and migrant workers to this platform. The project will also strengthen capacity of TVET managers in supporting digital transformation in the TVET sub-sector. A gender-sensitive “Digital Transformation Plan: How-to Guide” will be developed to train selected TVET managers in Viet Nam and an e-version will be disseminated, the project will also promote collaborative and multi-stakeholder approach to create synergies for improved capacity of TVET authorities.
