Benefiting Member States
Albania
This project aims to contribute to assessing and strengthening the labour migration framework in Albania through specific activities focusing on data collection and analysis. In order to achieve this, the project will ensure that the government has increased capacity to collect, analyse and produce comprehensive, consistent and gender-sensitive data and has the necessary resources to develop long-term labour migration policies and to promote ethical recruitment practices in the country. The main activities to be implemented include the development of a training module on migration data and statistics for government officials; conducting of an assessment of the labour market needs in select countries of destination and their impact on the Albanian labour force, with an analysis of how COVID-19 has affected these flows; drafting of a study on predictive modelling of the migration impact on the Albanian workforce and skills development needs; and, establishment of national guidelines on ethical recruitment of migrant workers, for their further inclusion into the national labour migration policy framework. Through capacity-building, research and policy activities, the project will build an evidence-base and provide the Government with the tools needed to improve labour migration management and ethical recruitment practices in the country.
