The project aims to address capacity constraints by fostering (promoting and facilitating) ethical and transparent recruitment practices and processes in a rights-based and migrant-friendly manner, in line with international labour standards. The outcome will be achieved through the development of an action plan and roadmap on reform measures aimed at strengthening the recruitment industry and through sensitization on international labour standards and recommendations including the Montreal Recommendations on Recruitment, as well as third party verification schemes, including International Recruitment Integrity System (IRIS) Standard. The project will contribute to the standardization of recruitment practices and elimination of malpractices through developing standard operating procedures for the public and private employment agencies. The project will also support the development of a tailored trainer of trainers’ package targeted at employment officers which will also include online modules to facilitate remote delivery of trainings in view of the prevailing constraints posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the related public health guidelines. To ensure a blended approach to cascading the training, the project will support the roll out of the training package through a Trainer of Trainers methodology in three provinces and through the web-based training.
