Benefiting Member States
Uzbekistan
The project is designed to support the Government of Uzbekistan in its efforts to provide Uzbek youth with the skills relevant to the labour market in both Uzbekistan and in main destination countries, and thus contributes to reducing instances of irregular migration, in particular from the pilot Namangan region (with a possibility of providing up-to-date training opportunities for potential trainees from neighbouring Andijan and Farghona regions). Graduates from the pilot skills development centre (SDC) are expected to have a significantly high employability both in domestic and external labour markets, thus contributing to the overall employment rates in the pilot region. The SDC will focus mainly on training skilled personnel for the hospitality (service provision) sphere.
