The project aims to set up mechanisms for harmonizing, consolidating and sharing of labour migration data to inform policy solutions amongst countries, to enhance cooperation and reach evidence-based and harmonized labour migration policies in the East and Horn of Africa (EHOA) in coherence with national and regional priorities for sustainable development. The selected EHOA countries (Kenya, Somalia and Uganda) are co-signatories to the Regional Ministerial Forum on Migration (RMFM) Communique and Call for Action. The project responds to the RMFM Communique signed at the regional level and its Call for Action and the interests of the co signatory EHOA countries as the data is mentioned specifically under the regional cooperation section as well as under Objectives 3 and 4. Areas of engagement will target interventions on regulation and enforcement, regional cooperation, migration governance and policy, as well as protection of migrant workers.
