The project aims to ensure that sustainable mechanisms are in place to offer accessible services for youth to enhance their employability. Low skills and knowledge were identified as key hindering factors for youth to find sustainable employment opportunities. Reforming and enhancing the quality and accessibility of vocational training and employment services remain therefore a priority for the Government of Egypt (GoE). Project components aim to enhance the institutional capacity of the GoE in providing quality and accessible services promoting youth employability through the Ministry of Manpower piloting a centre of excellence model based on international standards in Beheira. A training curriculum will be developed to train youth on key skills required by the labour market. Ministry officials will be enrolled in a trainer certification programme to deliver the curricula to youth. Training will be piloted for youth and lessons learned documented. A strategic road map and/or policy will be drafted based on lessons learned from the implementation of the vocational training programme in Beheira with the help of a strategy development expert for the Ministry of Manpower. A national workshop will be held where the documents will be shared with stakeholders and main policy practitioners in the country.
