Benefiting Member States
Côte d'Ivoire
Côte d'Ivoire is the worlds' top exporter of cocoa and Africa's top producer and exporter of dessert bananas. An important part of the production of both sectors is carried out informally and depends heavily on low-cost labour from migrant workers originating from countries in the region, increasing the risk of trafficking, unethical recruitment and forced labour along cocoa and banana supply chains. In light of the above, the objective of this project is to contribute to evidence-based labour migration policymaking, with an emphasis on the protection of migrant workers and their families, by the Government of Côte d'Ivoire.
