This project will be implemented complementarily to IOM’s 18-month project ‘Towards Improved Vocational Education and Training in Kyrgyzstan’, funded by the European Union.
The first outcome of this project will be the Agency for Vocational Education and Training (AVET) increased capacity and enhanced knowledge of the directors of the pilot vocational schools in managing the VET system by using the good practices gained. The project plans a study visit that will allow the AVET management and directors of the pilot vocational schools to learn how the Czech VET system is managed and how their good practice can be customized and applied in Kyrgyzstan to improve the VET system in accordance with the Torino Process Recommendations .
The second outcome of the project will be the pilot-testing of the 5 curricula and occupations, which were newly developed in the EU funded project. As many as 14 instructors, who were trained, will be conducting the pilot-testing of the new occupations and curricula, the students will be using the manuals and instructions published. This current proposal will include selection, recruitment, training and examination of the students from vulnerable groups who will have the unique opportunity to obtain professions in demand within the project. Moreover, during the pilot-testing the students will benefit from the modernized laboratories, which were also refurbished and equipped as part of the EC project.
