Benefiting Member States
Albania
The objective of the project is to improve migration governance in Albania through a capacity-building approach for the Government of Albania officials in charge for the implementation of the National Strategy on Migration Governance 2019-2022 for the benefit of all migrants, and particularly vulnerable migrants. In pursuit of this objective, IOM will deliver three main outputs. Firstly, an in-depth assessment of institutional capacities for effective migration governance at various levels of management within government institutions will be undertaken. Secondly, based on the above assessment, a holistic human rights and gender-sensitive migration governance training programme will be developed for government authorities, encompassing several thematic areas that are relevant for the Albanian context and aligning the existing training modules accordingly. Thirdly, the training module will be piloted with government institutions through a Training of Trainers approach. The trainings will provide a clear view of the new Strategy, address the challenges for its implementation and will be enabled to transfer this knowledge to other staff of institutions in charge for the implementation of the strategy.
