This project will establish a steering committee that will work with the already established Task Force for the Prevention of Human Trafficking and Smuggling to strengthen coordination in the Kingdom of Eswatini. IOM will provide institutional and technical support to the Task Force and key national partners. In addition, IOM aims to build the capacity of key government actors to prevent trafficking and provide protection to victims of trafficking. IOM will support the revision of statutes and procedures which include the guidelines for the identification and referral of victims of trafficking to ensure that they are comprehensive. This will be followed by training on the utilization of the guidelines and standardized risk assessment screening and assistance tools to ensure sustainability. Furthermore, IOM aims to carry out an awareness-raising campaign targeting the youth and focusing on trafficking in persons to increase knowledge of the general public on the issue and encouraging reporting/referral of suspected cases.
