The Argentine textile sector is primarily composed of workers from Bolivia, with more than 90% being migrant women who often endure long and intense workdays, receiving unfair pay and working in unsafe conditions that pose multiple health risks. Much of the garment production occurs clandestinely in women's homes, affecting their children as well. Additionally, violence is prevalent within these families, with high incidences of gender-based violence and violence against children. The project aims to contribute to improved access to assistance and protection services for Bolivian migrants in Argentina, particularly those at risk and/or survivors of gender-based violence, violence against migrant children and human trafficking. To achieve the project objective, under Outcome 1, IOM will carry out a participatory study on the risks and protection needs of migrants in vulnerable situations in Argentina and will produce a report on cases of Bolivian migrants feminicides in Argentina, exploring the degree of incidence and institutional response capacities (Output 1.1); moreover, an institutional support network will be established, a virtual module for the assistance of migrants in vulnerable situations will be developed and consular officials in Argentina will be trained on its use (Output 1.2). Under Outcome 2, a dissemination plan on consular protection and assistance services will be designed and implemented (Output 2.1); and a communication campaign on the prevention of GBV and violence against migrant children in Argentina will be developed (Output 2.2).
