Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. Context
Since the inception of IOM in 1951, Movement Operations have been and continue to be a fundamental pillar of the Organization’s work. The organized movement of persons in need of international migration assistance is a primary mandate of the Organization and a cornerstone of IOM’s operations. Movement Systems Support is coordinated under the division of Resettlement and Movement Management (RMM) in the Department of Operations and Emergencies (DOE) at IOM’s Geneva Headquarters and is responsible for all aspects related to the management of the global movement systems, technical support of RMM proprietary tools, administration of RMM Portal and maintenance of Freshservice.
Under the general supervision of Senior Movement Operations Manager, Senior Compliance Operations Manager and the direct supervision of the Movement System Support Officer; the successful candidate is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
Core Functions / Responsibilities
- Oversee team members and schedule work load, manage the units email and direct the email s to concerned staff and ensure a smooth and accurate flow of operations.
- Act as the primary liaison for iGATOR & PRISM helpdesks and provide guidance technical and timely assistance to users globally.
- Oversee the development of Standard Operating Procedure of the iGATOR and its global implementation in coordination with RMM/MOH to ensure consistent, efficient and reliable practices during planning, deployment and maintenance of RMM movements.
- Ensure uninterrupted movements systems by fostering strong collaboration and coordination with the PRISM technical team, VMS team, ICT team and PCST team.
- Oversee the verification of all global movement operations user accounts through PRISM data and facilitate the activation /deactivation of user account.
- Supervise the reports generation process an conduct meticulous analysis of movement data accuracy and across interconnected movement application systems for RMM
- Offer detailed technical specifications for the business processes needed in systems enhancement and intergration.
- Manage the safe keeping of RMM systems manuals, guidelines circulars , directives updates and maintain the administration and configuration of system data structure, layout, work flows for automated responses, dynamic and static contents, restriction to respective content, posted updates and administrator logins.

- Supervise PRISM financial reports to identify and correct discrepancies related to air travel vendors, user accounts access, non-compliance with RMM SOPs, global transaction of air travel vendors. Additionally, generate a monthly summary of air transportation vendors.
- Manage and provide monthly statistics on user account on i-Gator, RMM Portal, HIT, MIMOSA and RMM portal updates.
- Design and consolidate MSS Monthly, Quarterly and annual Reports to RMM and MAC .
- Monitor activities within of the Air Travel Vendor accounts, encompassing both local and global vendors and IOM standard are upheld. Promptly report any unauthorized actions to the VMS technical team to initiate necessary corrective measures
- Any other duties assigned.
Education
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or,
- University degree in the above fields from an accredited academic institution with two (2) years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Relevant work experience in systems development, database reporting, data analysis, designing online survey, systems support to end users and statistical record keeping capacity.
- Experience in manipulation of data in various file formats, reporting from complex databases, understanding of statistical principals necessary for data analysis.
- Extensive experience in MS SQL Query, MS Reporting Services, Drupal.
- Proficient in a Microsoft Office environment, including extensive use of Microsoft Excel Word, PowerPoint and comfort with learning new software and project reporting tools.
- Advanced analytical and critical thinking skill.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data, detect meaningful trends and patterns, and communicate findings.
Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.
