Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. Context
The IOM Global Teleradiology Center based in Manila provides global Teleradiology services and Radiology Technical support to field operations with a purpose to standardize and optimize the quality of IOM Radiology services in the field missions.
Under the overall administrative supervision of the Global Radiology Coordinator or the International radiologist, and the direct technical supervision of the the senior teleradiology administrative assistant or Senior Teleradiology and PACS Systems Administrator for day to day workflow and technical matters, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for assisting and facilitating the daily Teleradiology workflow and communications, and specially provide the IOM Teleradiology Center users the following duties and responsibilities:
Core Functions / Responsibilities
- Communicate with the assigned teleradiologist using field country operations through live chat methods and emails for providing general support to the Teleradiology users, and getting information including the daily caseload, notification of status of cases, correcting x-ray bio-data, and coordinating any related issues or changes in the CXR reports.
- Cross check the identification of the X-ray Images of immigrants and refugees sent to the Teleradiology Center for reading including full name, ID, age, sex and date of birth before uploading the image to eMedical to prevent substitution.
- Timely & properly upload the chest x-ray (CXR) images to the receiving countries website (eMedical website) following the instruction and cross checking the correctness of the uploaded images for cases read by the Teleradiology Center for cases bound to the receiving countries using the eMedical system such as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
- Coordinate with the Teleradiology systems administrators for escalating cases with issues which need system checking, troubleshooting or other technical actions in the Teleradiology systems.
- Update the status of the case in the Telerad system when the image uploading for each case is complete, so that the radiologist will submit the chest x-ray reports to eMedical system. And assist the IOM Teleradiology Radiologist in copying the X-ray reports to eMedical, when needed.
- Track the chest x-ray send from the assigned field operations, to make sure the x-rays are read and submitted to the eMedical system by checking the data in the Teleradiology systems and eMedical and following up the respective radiologists or field operations as needed.
- Prepare the daily summary of statistical reports on chest x-ray readings and eMedical submissions, send the reports to the field operations by email daily, and update and file the records in Teleradiology Center accordingly.
- Assist Teleradiology Administrative work such as Keeping track of consumables, follow up of purchases and payments and data reporting in the unit, when needed.
- Scan, photocopy and file medical documents, as required.
- Provide support during weekends, holidays, and night shifts or outside working hours as well as “stand-by” focal on a rotation basis as may be requested.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Education
- University degree Information Technology, Business Administration, Psychology, Science fields, or any other related field from an accredited academic institution, with two (2) years of relevant professional experience preferably in administrative capacity and clerical activities or;
- Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience with digital radiology and Teleradiology systems an advantage.
- Experience in Migration health work, screening health assessments and eHealth/eMedical services an advantage.
- Comprehensive computer skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Advanced computer knowledge an advantage.
Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.
