Context

Under the direct supervision of the National MHI Data Analytics Officer and in close coordination with the Migration Health Informatics Manager, Migration Health Informatics Officer, and the SQL Database and PowerBI Specialist, the Data Quality and Reporting Associate is responsible for closely monitoring data validation processes of field missions. The successful candidate will play a major role in first level data validation system user support to field operations and communications with missions related to MHI data validation and reporting obligations. The successful candidate will participate in maintaining the data validation documentation system, training of the field staff, and provide support in the continuous development of validation systems for health assessment data from Mimosa, UKTB, LIMS, IMS, ICD, HAP and any new migration health informatics initiatives. 

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  1. Closely coordinate and follow-up data validation activities and requirements to field operations and missions.
  2. Be the first line of communication with data focal points in field operations and missions.
  3. Support in monitoring, documentation and implementation of activities related to provision of health informatics data validation systems and cater to medical data requests as needed by field missions.
  4. Provide technical assistance remotely to field missions worldwide in verifying and addressing medical data validation concerns.
  5. Identify recurrent validation systems user support issues and learning gaps with the objective of improving users’ knowledge and skills.
  6. Support MHI in generation and submission of periodic operational and statistical reports.
  7. Work closely with the MHI Data Analytics Officer in monitoring compliance of field operations and missions to data validation processes and data quality standard.
  8. Provide technical guidance to data validation assistants in conducting global data validation and
    reporting activities.
  9. Support the team in the development of MS Power BI reports and dashboards for use of global, regional, country, and other stakeholders to monitor data quality and validation issues and to report health indicators, measures, and statistics.
  10. Support in MS SQL scripts development, updating and troubleshooting.
  11. Work closely with the team in monitoring and management of validation and reporting databases and dashboards.
  12. Work closely with other MHI team members in other health informatics-related activities (e.g., may be assigned to conduct regional/global trainings and workshops in relation to data gaps/QC issues).
  13. Any other duties as assigned and agreed upon by the staff and supervisor/s.

Education

  • Completed university degree in health and social sciences, statistics, engineering and other areas dealing with data and analytics from an accredited academic institution.
  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of relevant professional experience is required.

Experience

  • Training on medical informatics, public health, or health data analytics, or experience in medical data
    management will be an advantage.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, required.
  • Specialized understanding of medical, public health and statistical terminology as well as IT disciplines and ability to correctly bridge health and information technology to address the changing information management needs of medical units, is an advantage.
  • Effective time management and high level of attention to details.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, medical and IT professionals, and subject matter experts.

Languages

For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.
