Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context
The Online Communications Unit (OCU), the Manila-based branch of the IOM Media and Communications Unit, focuses on several key areas of work. These include bringing expertise and agility to manage the digital environment effectively, ensuring IOM’s online presence is a strategic priority, maintaining consistency in online brand representation, guiding and empowering colleagues through web management training, and being dedicated to swift and effective responses to web-based demands, efficiently meeting various web-related needs.
Under the direct supervision of the Web Production Supervisor and the overall guidance of the Head of the Online Communications Unit (OCU), the successful candidate will assume a senior-level role, tasked with providing Website Content Production support for websites managed by the OCU.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
- Coordinate with focal points from various core IOM websites, including IOM Global, Regional, Country Offices, and Project Websites, to ensure the clarity of their requests, establish schedules for the timely delivery of website-related content.
- Guide conversations with different IOM Departments on webpage structuring and content production.
- Gather and organize content that needs to be posted on different IOM websites.
- Work closely with the OCU Editorial and Production teams to create or adapt online content into established templates and layouts.
- Coordinate with the Senior Graphic & Web Designer to make sure technical requirements are respected when creating and/or posting online content.
- Support junior web assistants, ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of the content, and confirming its adherence to IOM website standards and branding.
- Actively participate in discussions involving editing, template and design alternatives, and approaches to content management with colleagues as part of a team.
- Perform routine quality assurance checks on IOM websites through design/code reviews and tests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- University degreein Communication, Journalism, Digital Communications or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with four (4) years of relevant professional experience; or
- Completed High School Degreefrom an accredited academic institution, with six (6) years of relevant professional experience.
- Knowledge of and certification in website management is desired.
- Master degree is an advantage.
Experience
- Relevant work experience in content website management, ideally with an international organization.
- Experience in the use of a Drupal content management system a distinct advantage.
- Ability to keep abreast with the latest trends, technology tools, design, and best practices in online communications.
- Excellent, applied knowledge and skills in HTML, CSS and W3C standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge and experience in UI/UX design for web content management and development.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of web analytics.
- Knowledge in web development tools.
- Knowledge in data visualization platforms for online communications.
Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.
