Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context
Under the direct supervision of the Web Production Supervisor and the overall supervision of the Head of the Online Communications Unit (OCU), the successful candidate will be responsible for providing content management support to the IOM Media Library managed by OCU-MCD.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
- Assist in the migration of Media Library assets from a legacy system to a new platform.
- Liaise with IOM contributors to gather photo/video information and verify the completeness, accuracy, accessibility, and integrity of IOM’s photos and their metadata.
- Edit photo captions/descriptions and metadata for clarity, brevity, and consistency.
- Help review, select, edit, upload, and categorize photos and videos for use in IOM’s Media Library.
- Assist with handling, organizing, and archiving photo/video permission forms and making sure they are linked with corresponding assets in the Media Library.
- Handle photo requests, including searching and identifying images that best illustrate migration
situations and IOM’s work. - Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Education
- University degree in Photography, Art, Design, Journalism, Photojournalism or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with two (2) years of relevant professional experience; or
- Completed High School Degree from an accredited academic institution, with five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
- Knowledge of and certification in website management is desired.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
- Relevant work experience in photography, photo curation, content website management, ideally with an international organization.
- Experience in the use of a digital assets management systems (DAMS) platform is a distinct advantage.
- Experience working in the fields of Journalism and/or Photojournalism is a plus.
- Knowledge in digital assets management systems (DAMS) focusing on multimedia.
- Proficient in creating, managing, and standardizing metadata for DAMS platform, including descriptive metadata such as titles, descriptions, keywords, and copyright information.
- Knowledge in designing and implementing efficient workflows for ingesting, cataloging, indexing, and retrieving digital assets within the DAMS platform.
- Knowledge of data migration and integration processes to transfer digital assets into the DAMS platform while maintaining data integrity and metadata consistency.
- Applied knowledge and skills in HTML, CSS and W3C standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.
