Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. Context
Under the direct supervision of the PCST National Officer, indirect supervision of the Financial Analyst and overall supervision of the MFS Chief, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable primarily in data cleaning and migration activities to the new ERP system in close coordination with the business transformation team and other relevant units.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
- To serve as a focal person for the unit for inquiries and clarifications related to the data cleaning process and work closely with other cross-functional teams.
- Work with other stakeholders to understand data structures and business requirements and check for any inaccuracies or incompleteness in underlying data.
- In coordination with the unit head, facilitate the data clean-up process after the conditions/criteria have been defined and finalized by the relevant units.
- Review and validate the cleaned data in PRIMA and/or PRISM systems and inform the relevant parties once completed.
- Perform additional checks to ensure the validated and/or cleaned data is properly migrated to the new ERP system.
- Prepare summary reports on the data cleaning actions to be taken as well as provide progress reports.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Education
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, IT or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with three (3) years of relevant professional experience in Accounting or Finance; or,
- Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
- Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or its equivalent.
Experience
- Experience in the field of Finance and Accounting.
- Experience of SAP and Oracle (ERP) is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of accounting system and/or SAP and Oracle plus generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls.
- Computer literacy including proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in audit an advantage.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.
