Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context
Under the overall supervision of the Sr. Resource Management Officer and the direct supervision of the National HR Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible in providing graphics design and layout services for all online publication and other promotional materials of the MAC Human Resources unit. He or she will also be accountable in ensuring that all graphics materials are in accordance with the IOM’s House style manual, layout manual and brand guidelines. In addition, the selected candidate is expected to work closely with the social media unit to create engaging content that will enhance the social media presence of the recruitment unit.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
- Create professional high-quality graphic design and layout for online publications including but not limited to reports, guidelines, brochures, info sheets and flyers.
- Develop, improve and implement graphic elements (e.g. infographics, graphs, icons, charts and tables), and enhance colour correction / optimize images as necessary, sustaining IOM’s corporate visual identity.
- Propose and publish weekly media posts; propose and develop new recruitment related content for existing and future social media platform (e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram, Yammer, Blogs, Facebook posts, etc.) to create brand loyalty and community.
- Seek out new social media avenues and ways of connecting with potential applicants.
- Support in conducting social sourcing, particularly for hard to fill positions.
- Assist in posting job vacancies on internal and external channels.
- Create and update posts to include relevant keywords for search engine optimization on social media and job boards.
- Liaise with the National HR Officer regarding the design, layout and content of the unit’s Intranet page and other communication tool and platforms
- Serve as focal point for the maintenance of all MAC HR communication platforms, including but not limited to:
- Intranet page
- SharePoint Info site
- Other knowledge-based sites
- Maintain and ensure branding standardization of the MAC HR career site and other job ad sites (e.g LinkedIn, showcase page, Facebook, Jobstreet and other paid job ad sites).
- Maintain an up-to-date archive of all electronic files, repository of logos, icons, templates.
- Collaborate with HQ, OCU and other Graphic Designers within IOM for knowledge sharing and other learning opportunities.
- Research new and interesting graphic ideas, concepts and techniques which can be adopted for MAC HR branding.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
Education
- University degree in Advertising, Fine Arts or a relevant field from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience; or
- Completed High Scholl degree from an accredited academic institution, with five years of relevant professional experience;
- Certificate in computer graphic design, an advantage.
- Professional experience gained in the field of layout and graphic design;
- Work experience in international/multi-cultural and/or UN system an advantage.
Experience
- Familiarity with human resources content an advantage.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of graphic design;
- In-depth knowledge of and expertise in a wide range of Adobe Creative Suite software applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat, as well as Microsoft office applications (w/ valid application licenses).
- Creative flair and the ability to generate ideas;
- Familiarity with typography and typesetting preferred;
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and a good eye for details.
Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.
