IOM's programming is inclusive of a wide range of migrants, including migrants of diverse ages, gender identities, gender expressions, ancestries, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, sex characteristics, family structures, marital statuses, and physical and mental abilities. In all of the assistance we provide to migrants, IOM strives to be inclusive and respectful, and to ensure our services are appropriate, accessible and dignified. To achieve these goals, IOM has released a range of guidance materials on various social inclusion topics that are applicable to a wide variety of IOM programmes; a selection of them can be found on this page.
IOM has also released a set of social inclusion training packages on migration and children, older people, people with diverse sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics (SOGIESC), people with disabilities, and interpreters, as well as trainings on protection themes such as safeguarding and intersectionality. Trainings are provided in-person, by webinar and as self-paced online learning courses; please contact Jenn Rumbach (jrumbach@iom.int) for more information.
