Benefiting Member States
Tunisia
Tunisia is a country of origin, transit and destination, and the migration corridor between Côte-d’Ivoire and Tunisia has become increasingly significant over the years.
Although the Tunisian Government has made measurable progress in the field of migration management in recent years, broader migration management outcomes could be reached through a comprehensive approach that considers the various aspects of movements along the migration corridor between the two countries.
In light of the above, this project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Government of Tunisia to effectively manage labour migration along the Côte d’Ivoire – Tunisia corridor through the endorsement of a joint action plan on labour migration management.
This will be possible through:
• Development of a comprehensive and gender-sensitive Labour Market Assessment (LMA) for Tunisia and Côte d’Ivoire;
• Strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Ivorian and Tunisian authorities on labour mobility and human development;
• Enhancement of public and private actors’ knowledge on pre-departure orientation in both countries;
• Increase cooperation between relevant actors in Côte d’Ivoire and Tunisia on tertiary education.
