In line with ‘2012 Migration Initiative’ priorities for Turkey, this eighteen months project aims to support Turkey’s efforts in enhancing the national public health standards through strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health in dealing with the health aspects of migration management. The Project will establish an inter-agency consultative mechanism aims to establish a system that minimizes migration health related risks towards the general public, officials and migrants themselves and enables the cooperation and coordination of activities between officials from different governmental services to address the public health concerns, health needs and rights of migrants and staff’s occupational health in line with best international practices. It will also develop and carry out specific training activities for migration and health officials.
