IOM has been providing technical assistance to the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) in their planning process for the introduction of a Machine Readable Passport (MRP) and Machine Readable Visa (MRV). Further to a series of assessments combined with capacity building measures in this field, the government is now further requesting that IOM avails technical expertise in finalizing the GoB high level strategy, drafting the tender for the MRP, as well as technical support in the selection of the systems integrator, with subsequent support in the implementation of the MRP programme.
