Tajikistan
The proposed project will ensure that various sectoral government entities in Tajikistan have better access to information on the migration, environment and climate change nexus and participate actively in regular cross-sectoral discussions on related topics. This aims to ultimately lead to more informed policies and practices, and for the sectoral government entities to further integrate the migration, environment and climate change nexus into relevant national policies and programmes, including the National Adaptation Plan, enabling migrants and their families to contribute to and benefit from climate change adaptation.
The project includes three major Outputs. Firstly, the knowledge base of national stakeholders in Tajikistan about the migration, environment and climate change nexus will be increased. Next, tools to mainstream the migration, environment and climate change nexus considerations into the National Adaptation Plan of Tajikistan will be developed, and workshops and events will be conducted to increase the capacities of the stakeholders on these tools. Finally, media and communications material on the migration, environment and climate change nexus will be developed and publicly disseminated, to increase the overall knowledge base and buy-in of the people of Tajikistan on these issues.
