The overall objective of the proposed project is to contribute to effective public health emergency preparedness and response by the Government of Viet Nam along the mobility continuum. In order to better understand challenges facing Vietnamese migrants abroad in accessing accurate information as well as healthcare during public health crises, the project will undertake a study which targets Vietnamese migrants living in major countries of destination, as well as a broad range of governmental and non-governmental stakeholders. The results of the study will enable the Government of Vietnam to identify key issues and develop recommendations for areas of prioritized action. The study will also inform a gender-sensitive guideline to be developed by the Government of Viet Nam on ensuring health of migrants during public health emergencies along the mobility continuum. The project will create country profiles of up-to-date health and immigration regulations including COVID-19 related measures. A training of trainers will also be delivered for Vietnamese recruitment agencies to improve their knowledge and skills on better advising potential and departing migrants as well as migrants abroad in the context of public health emergencies.
