The recent establishment of the National Observatory for Migration (NOM) in Tunisia demonstrates the commitment of the Government of Tunisia to address migration in a more comprehensive manner. The scope is for the NOM to be a key actor in supporting an effective data collection system on migration, provide quantitative as well as qualitative information and ensure harmonization of governmental and non-governmental data sources on migration in Tunisia in order to provide the necessary support for the development and implementation of a national migration policy in the country. This project responds to the technical support request made from the Ministry of Social Affairs to the IOM to strengthen the capacity of the observatory staff, coordinate the production of material and implement an effective strategy for the dissemination of results.
