This project shall contribute to the enhancement of migration management capabilities and capacities of the Government of the Republic of Armenia (RA), specifically in the area of biometric technology and information. Towards this end, IOM shall build the capacities of Government officials through training activities, capacity building and a consultancy. A Draft Plan to introduce identity and travel documents with biometric parameters will be prepared, which will serve as a detailed roadmap for the government when introducing new identity and travel documents.
At the end of this project’s timeline, it is expected that the following shall be achieved: (a) raised awareness of the key government officials on biometric documents; and (b) developed plan to introduce the biometric system in Armenia.
