The aim of the project has been to build up the capacity of the countries concerned in the management of different migration issues common to all and increase their regional cooperation and development.
A number of workshops will be organized where the participants will include representatives from relevant ministries. IOM will act as a neutral facilitator with experience in facilitating regional migration dialogues in other regions of the world.
The various workshops will:
1. Reinforce the opportunity of dialogue, experience sharing and best techniques in relation to migration flows and development processes in the Western Mediterranean.
2. Study migration trends as well as observed experiences on priority issues to reach a common agreement.
3. Maximise the positive results of migration flows in the country of origin as in the host and transit country in the social and economic sectors.
