Bolivia requires policies to manage the challenges of internal migration from rural to urban areas. The absence of internal migration policies limits sociodemographic planning and fuels urban segregation as well as the proliferation of fringe neighborhoods. In this context, the main objective of this project is to strengthen the formulation of public policies related to internal migration, through the analysis of internal migration flows. Specifically, the project will result in two outputs: 1. A comparative study that will analyze the tendencies, characteristics and determinants of internal migration in six strategic sectors, namely housing, health, education, employment, urbanization and environment. 2. A white paper with strategic guidelines for the development of public policies and sociodemographic planning, aimed at strengthening local development and improving the living conditions of Bolivian citizens. This project will be implemented in partnership with the Governmental Unit for Analysis of Social and Economic Policy (UDAPE) and the National Institute for Statistics (INE).
