This project seeks to contribute to strengthening the capacity of the justice system to prevent and prosecute trafficking in persons and related crimes in Brazil, thereby upholding and protecting the rights of victims of trafficking and vulnerable persons. The project will aim to contribute to this objective by conducting a gender-sensitive assessment in selected regions, to increase knowledge of and information available to justice system staff on counter trafficking and related crimes; supporting Justice system staff to improve case management through the creation and use of protocols on referral mechanisms; and by delivering tailor-made training to judges and other high-level justice system staff on counter trafficking and related crimes.
