Benefiting Member States
Guatemala
This project aims to contribute to strengthening the capacity of the Guatemala's Consular Network and the General Directorate of Consular and Migratory Affairs in order to improve the consular services, assistance and protection. Consulates in the United States, the Migrant Assistance Center in Guatemala City and the regional delegations will be equipped with technological equipment and an information management system to obtain information in real time. A mapping of the profiles of the Guatemalan diaspora and recipients of remittances in Guatemala, and their expectations as far as development in their communities of origin will also be developed. This will contribute to evidence-based decision-making, in addition to providing services for migrants and their families with the aim to encourage the collaboration between the diaspora and their families towards developing sustainable development initiatives in Guatemala.
