Benin Togo
The objective of this project is to reinforce the capacity of the Governments of Benin and Togo (countries of origin) to combat trafficking in children. This project will be coordinated concurrently with a second project, for Gabon (under Line 1, in 2016), with the same purpose and covering the same thematic area.
Project outputs that will contribute towards the objective include:
• Building the capacity of national actors and civil society with regards to trafficking in persons in Benin and Togo;
• Supporting local non-governmental organizations to protect children and build a coordination mechanism among the parties involved;
• Awareness-raising events on the causes and mechanism of trafficking in children in the countries of origin, Benin and Togo;
• Finally, enhance the cooperation between the benefiting countries in order to encourage and improve the sharing of information, best practices and experiences among the relevant stakeholders.
