The project aims to strengthen the Government of Seychelles capacity to effectively prevent human trafficking, protect victims and prosecute offenders. The project will target three groups: i) journalists ii) law enforcement, government officials and NGOs iii) the public.
Firstly, the project will develop and carry out a capacity building training for journalists who will be trained on how to report on trafficking within accepted best practices and with regard to the safety of victims of trafficking. The project will furthermore enhance the capacity of government officials, the Committee on Human Trafficking, and NGOs through comprehensive training on how to identify and protect possible victims of trafficking. Finally, a media campaign will be produced, which will help the public and NGOs identify potential cases of human trafficking and better understand the dangers associated with trafficking in persons.
