The project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Government of Bolivia to address trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants and related issues, in this way contributing to the protection and respect of the rights of victims of trafficking and migrants in vulnerable situations. The project has three main components. The first is the development and drafting of two separate national policies, one addressing human smuggling and the other addressing trafficking in persons. The second is the drafting of two multisectoral plans to address human smuggling and trafficking in persons, respectively. The third is the piloting of an implementation plan for Bolivian departments to facilitate the implementation of national policies on human smuggling and trafficking in persons at a local level.
