The main objective of this project is to strengthen the capacity of government agencies and Mauritanian civil society to reinforce the protection of vulnerable communities from violent extremism, especially in the peri-urban areas of Nouakchott city and border areas. The overall objective of this project is based on two main axes: strengthening of civil society organizations in their capacities to positively engage youth and promote social cohesion and strengthening the capacity of Mauritanian and regional institutions (G5 Sahel) committed to addressing vulnerabilities to violent radicalism through the development of a communication strategy on the prevention of violent extremism.
