Mauritania
The Government of Mauritania drafted a roadmap on diaspora engagement for the development of the country in 2020. However, more efforts are needed to strengthen the link between the government and the diaspora, and further engage Mauritanian abroad to contribute to the socio-economic development process of Mauritania. The project will work with the Government of Mauritania to develop a diaspora engagement strategy, with an inclusive participation of all the Mauritanian diasporas. The project will establish communication and coordination mechanisms through consultations and forum among the diaspora. These are intended to validate the roadmap, encourage diaspora investment and facilitate the creation of small and medium enterprises.
