This research project will include a study on the impact of the world economic crisis on remittance flows at the household level in Tajikistan. The research will target Jamoats of Sughd, Khatlon, Rasht and Badakhshan regions which are the regions with the highest rate of emigration. Most of the households in the target regions have at least one member of their family working abroad and sending remittances on a regular basis. The study will provide recommendations to the Government of Tajikistan on the best practices in crisis mitigation measures relative to remittances and migrant households.
