The proposed project aims to build the capacity of migration institutions in Mesoamerica and the Caribbean through the development of a migration information and management virtual platform. The objective of the platform is to collect, analyse and utilize migration-related data to ultimately support evidence-based policy making in the region.
More specifically, the project will:
• Develop a virtual migration information and management platform;
• Establish a regional network comprised of National Migration Directorates to feed into the virtual platform and benefit from it;
• Produce migration information reports and develop a regional assessment that identifies good practices and lessons learnt;
• Conduct a regional workshop bringing together all the participating countries to share experiences and good practices.
