Building on the Government of Nepal’s ongoing initiative to develop a national labour migration policy and national migration policy, this project aims to support the integration of the migration policy at different levels (Outcome 1) and to promote gender-responsive regular pathways for migration with countries of destination in order to address current and future skills needs (Outcome 2).
Under the first outcome, the project will promote exchange on the new migration policy (Output 1.1), support dissemination of the policy to provincial governments (Output 1.2) and capacitate media stakeholders to report accurately on the policy and migration-related issues (Output 1.3). Under the second outcome, the project will conduct an assessment on regular pathways in the Nepal-GCC corridor (Output 2.1) and will host a dialogue between the Government of Nepal and GCC country representatives (Output 2.2) and strengthen collaboration with the private sector (Output 2.3), with the aim to contribute to the facilitation of regular migration through improved evidence-based migration dialogue and policy coordination amongst stakeholders in Nepal, and with key countries of destination, in alignment with international standards and national frameworks.
