The project will contribute to the efforts of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) in advancing peace and development in the new Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in Philippines. In order to do so, IOM is providing technical assistance to the BTA ministries and personnel. The assistance focus on capacity building and support to framework drafting around two major migration management areas: 1) normalization and reintegration assistance for decommissioned combatants, their families and communities and 2) labour migration governance and assisted voluntary return. Through support to the BTA's efforts to promote development, peace and stability, the project aims to address drivers of forced migration, promote the well-being of vulnerable and fragile communities and enhance reconciliation efforts in the region.
