Yemen
The Ministry of Immigrants Affairs of Yemen requested the assistance of IOM for the organization of one technical and policy discussion workshop that will bArabian Peninsula, in Yemen, to discuss migration issues of common concern. The international workshop will bring together countries of the Arabian Peninsula. The workshop will focus on 1) the identification of common priority issues in the field of international migration; 2) the potential for cooperation and common action; 3) the development of a common platform for the establishment of regional partnerships; 4) the importance of international conventions and legal instruments to fight illegal migration and migrant trafficking as well as the protection of the rights of migrants; and, 5) successful experiences of international migration management and regional dialogue in other geographical regions.
The organization of the workshop is expected to last six months. The workshop will last three days and will be held in Sana'a, Yemen.
