Benefiting Member States
Chad
Chad is a country almost excluded from any significant research on migration. Little is therefore known about its migration dynamics, migration routes or migration numbers throughout the country. Responding to a re-occurring request from government, donors and humanitarian community, a preliminary migration assessment will be conducted. Focus of this assessment will be (1) to develop an understanding of the migration dynamics throughout Chad with a particular regional focus of the border areas with Libya, Sudan, Central African Republic (CAR), Nigeria and Cameroon, (2) to contribute to an informed discussion about migration routes and numbers, as well as types of migration throughout Chad and (3) to provide recommendations to the Government of Chad, the international and national humanitarian community and the donor community on how to better integrate the Chadian migration dynamics into future policy decisions, strategic planning and regional integration.
