As part of the project ‘Capacity Building of Migration Management: Ukraine’, IOM, with the objective to enhance the management of detained migrants, is refurbishing one Migrant Accommodation Center (MAC) so as to enhance the safety and well being of migrants while ensuring that international standards on detention are met. This proposal covers the preparatory work, building on completed research on Best Practices on detention including technical requirements, which will enable IOM to initiate a tendering process and the refurbishment work. The activities include conducting a detailed technical survey of the selected MAC site, developing preliminary design requirements, estimating the costs of refurbishment, developing bill of quantity, and developing job plans for the refurbishment work.
