The objective of this project is to contribute to a strengthened institutional and policy framework on migration governance in Mali while mainstreaming a gender perspective.
The project will seek to do so by supporting the Government of Mali to adopt a revised National Migration Policy (NMP) and putting in place robust mechanisms to support the production of evidence-based data (Outcome 1) by developing a draft revised NMP and its action plan, taking into account gender considerations (Output 1.1) and by equipping relevant stakeholders to produce disaggregated data to enable a gender-sensitive evaluation of the NMP based on migration governance indicators (Output 1.2). In addition, the project will support the Government of Mali to implement a National Gender and Migration Action Plan and improve coordination for the integration of migration and gender into local and sectoral policies (Outcome 2) by developing a National Gender and Migration Action Plan in consultation with the Women's Empowerment Dialogue Group and all other relevant stakeholders (Output 2.1) and by strengthening coordination between relevant stakeholders to integrate migration and gender issues into sectoral and local policies (Output 2.2).
