Georgia
In the context of an ongoing reform and restructuring of the Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs (MoLHSA) has acquired new functions, adding the reintegration of returning Georgian migrants and integration of third country nationals to its labour migration, employment, and labour regulation portfolio. To this end, a new Reintegration, Integration and Labour Migration Division has been established in early 2019 within the Ministry, presenting an opportunity to enhance legislative and operational synergies between migrant reintegration, integration, and labour migration, and to develop an innovative integrated approach to their management. Based upon a request by MoLHSA, and in close coordination with other relevant Government structures, IOM will support MoLHSA in the development of the organizational skillset, toolset and mindset needed for implementation of this new integrated approach to migration management.
