This project aims to establish a Regional Capacity-Building Hub on Migration and Health (RCBH-MH) to strengthen the capacities of governments authorities, decision makers and NGOs in Central and South America and the Caribbean in relation to migration and health. Key actors will be trained by the RCBH-MH and acquire practical tools with the ultimate goal of strengthening policies and programmes in their respective countries. They will have an important role, not only in filling the existing gaps that restrict migrants from accessing health services, but also advocating for migrants' rights in relation to health, which will contribute to improve migrants' access to healthcare in the region. To achieve the above-mentioned objective, three outputs are proposed. An academic working group will be established to bring together regional capacities and define the RCBH-MH training priorities. A comprehensive gender-sensitive training curriculum on migration and health will be developed. And finally, the Ibero-American University will have strengthened capacities for a long-term and sustainable implementation of the migration and health training curriculum.
