Solomon Islands
The Community Health and Mobility in the Pacific (CHAMP) report on mobility dimensions, including migration, in the Solomon Islands found that migration-affected communities face particular challenges in relation to community health and violence against women and girls, including increased risk of sexual exploitation, trafficking and abuse most often in and around logging camps. The objective of the project is to contribute to upholding the fundamental rights of women and girls in migration-affected communities and enhancing the response to gender-based violence (GBV) and trafficking in persons (TiP) in the Solomon Islands. This will be achieved through an effective and well-coordinated reporting and referral system in GBV and TiP including sexual exploitation in migration-affected communities; and women and girls in migration-affected communities effectively advocating for their rights and accessing services in cases of violations.
