Liberia has been identified as a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking.
This project aims to build the capacities of all counter– trafficking stakeholders including the Anti – Human Trafficking Taskforce (AHTT) but particularly the Trafficking in Persons Secretariat (TIP) in implementing the Liberian 2005 Act to Ban Trafficking in Persons. Other collaborators will include law enforcement entities, religious and traditional leaders, civil society organizations, Safe Home Care Givers, national and international organizations and UN agencies in combatting trafficking in persons in Liberia. This will be achieved through training workshops, awareness raising activities and strengthening information management and referral systems throughout the project period. To effectively implement these activities, IOM and the TIP Secretariat will plan and conduct training and awareness activities in four selected countries.
