The objective of this project is to improve the available information on the Ivoirian diaspora as well as develop a uniform registration online system. This proposal is consistent with the National Government Strategy as the General Directorate of Ivorian Diaspora expressed its need to have quantifiable and more reliable data on its diaspora.
Project outputs that will contribute towards this objective include:
1) Setting-up of a steering committee to discuss and monitor the progress and challenges of the registration system with relevant stakeholders;
2) Setting-up of the registration system and convert it into an online mapping tool;
3) Training of government officials to use the online mapping tool;
4) Sensitization campaigns to promote and encourage the use of the online mapping tool.
The availability of the online mapping tool will, in the long-term, allow to mobilize the diaspora and meet the government needs to contribute to the economic development of Cote d’Ivoire.
