Ghana
The objective of the project is to contribute to the efforts of the Government of Ghana to effectively manage and harness the benefits of migration by mainstreaming migration into the national development framework. The project will achieve the objective through two main components:
1. Development of a comprehensive national migration policy and implementation roadmap supported through a series of workshops organized with Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and Chief Directors of relevant ministries.
2. Delivery of a Migration and Development training programme that will help increase the understanding of the complex linkages between migration and development and which will include select migration experts to be trained as trainers.
The project is in line with the Ghana Shared Growth and Development Agenda and aligns with the Economic Community of West African States Common Approach on Migration and the Africa Union Migration Policy Framework for Africa. Gender will be mainstreamed throughout the project implementation.
