Ecuador
In order to fully integrate migration into its national programs and policies for development, the Government of Ecuador has elaborated a National Plan on Ecuadorians Abroad. This project falls under the framework of the implementation of this national plan.
The objective of the project is the elaboration of a database of Ecuadorian migrants in Spain, which will allow for a better understanding in the GoE of the nature and potential of that Ecuadorian community. This will serve as a tool for the formulation of a policy on services which could be provided to support Ecuadorians living in Spain, by the Ecuadorian Ministry of External Relations.
IOM will provide its technical support for the design of the database and the implementation of a one year pilot project focussing on five Ecuadorian consulates in Spain (Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Murcia and Valencia).
